Artist / Maker / Filmmaker / Musician
Sean Krumbholz is an award-winning filmmaker, sculptor, photographer, and musician whose work bridges the boundaries between art, technology, and storytelling. Based in South Carolina, his creative practice spans from fine art photography and practical effects fabrication to sound and cinematic design, all united by a fascination with transformation—of materials, spaces, and perception itself.
With roots in film and special effects, Sean has contributed to major motion pictures including Halloween Ends and The Exorcist: Believer. His craftsmanship in prosthetics, scenic sculpture, and animatronics reflects a deep understanding of both engineering precision and emotional narrative.
Through his company Southern Moons, Sean
captures the state’s iconic crescent and palmetto through a minimalist, moonlit lens—distilling the familiar into something quietly transcendent.
As a musician and composer, Sean integrates atmospheric sound into his visual work, often blurring the line between sensory mediums. His compositions evoke the same emotional texture found in his visual art—reflective, haunting, and meticulously constructed.
Across mediums, Sean’s work asks what it means to see, to feel, and to step beyond the frame. Whether through sculpture, film, or sound, he invites audiences to inhabit the world from a new perspective—to not just witness art, but enter it.
This vision naturally extends into Canvas Off The Wall, where Sean’s three-dimensional reinterpretations of classic paintings transform two-dimensional art into immersive, living experiences. His work challenges traditional boundaries between viewer and artwork, redefining how people connect with art in contemporary spaces.
